A refit interval
September 1, 2013
OK we can’t work all the time especially when there is a festival on. So, searching out public information on festivals we hit on the Por Kor Festival (go to Por Kor Festival Phuket 2008 for an old You Tube video) . It all relates to turtles and hungry ghosts. So here is a little interval presented in photos of the Por Kor Festival in downtown Phuket.

The turtle being carried at the front of the parade on the rooftop and all decorated with real flowers

Annie – all sculpted out of vegetables. You have to come to Thailand to figure out how they do this.
That’s it and now back to work on the boat.

Hi Tony and Connie, Thank you for the festive photos and news. That duck was aria muck muck( very delicious ) and tempting !! You have to relax and enjoy the local customs ,it is a great experience and rewarding. Came back from the Maple Bay regatta and did quite well on Saturday but Sunday we were crowded in on the start line in light airs , if you have a chance there are some great photos of the regatta . I am crewing on a QUEST 30 called KORU which means new beginnings from a MAORI translation, because our skipper is a KIWI which has a picture of a new fond of a fiddle head of a silver fern . Any way CHUCK de KA and “SABAI and SANOOK ” my sailing Amigos !!! Bill. P.S. The Chandler`s send their regards to you both.
Wowie Zowie,
Forget about the thai cooking classes, sign me up for a 6 monther on carving fruits and vegies! Amazing what you can do with a carrot!
We are out in the hills of Umbria close to Assisi which we will visit today!
What a lovely, peaceful spot!
I enjoyed a 24 hour visit to Debbie and her guy Barry in TO.
Ciao, Annie B.
