Home at Last
Yes, we made it. A relatively mad dash back to our starting point in Warsash. Then. a flight back to Canada, over the northern region and a friend to pick us up at the airport to take us home. Great to be back but also satiated by a good dose of England, Wales and Ireland.
Backtracking to Dublin we had a great trip across the Muir Eireann on the Irish Ferries. About a 4 hour sail across the brine took us to Holyhead in Wales. We still had a few days to go so headed south along the west coast of Wales and through Eryi National Park (Snowdonia). Passing by towns with names like Porthmadog, Glan-Dwyfach and Penryhndeudraeth we skirted the mountains of Eryi National Park. We weren’t able to see much as the clouds were low down but we got an idea of how beautiful the area is.

A few days on the beach before heading back to Southampton. The drive back from Morfa Borth was about 6 hours and we passed by the site of the Green Man Festival – 25,000 people all camping for 3 days of music and entertainment. We were tempted to stop and join in but not only were all the tickets sold we had to return the van and fly home.

The two pictures above feature Jill, my cousin, and David who provided us with the incredible chariot we used to transport us to a magical Ireland – thank you
So time to go home. Off to Heathrow and a 10 flight back to Victoria. The highlight of the flight was that we flew over Greenland and the sky was clear. It was an amazing view of Greenland with all the ice, mountains and coastline. The east coast being very different from the west.

Just inland from the east coast – mountains and ice. I don’t have a photo of the west coast but it too was amazing as the shoreline and inland for a few miles there was not snow but the fjords were iced in and captured in the ice were bergy bits and icebergs. Stunningly beautiful

Welcome home. What a trip. I’m assuming judging from the posts and photos neither of you came home with a tan?
Cheers Jerome
What an unforgettable trip you had.
Welcome home! Just in time to savour life after the shit has hit the fan. I hear Victoria is about to be named Trumpville. The provincial politics are as dreadful as the global and now without Dolly. We are past the cusp of summer so hopefully you’ve brought some Irish climes with you. We need them. Good on you guys. F
incredible adventure, thanks for sharing.
sure wish I had some rellies that would lend me a campervan for a few weeks ( or longer) so I could go wandering throughout the countryside.
enjoy being home and back to Pickleball
