Adios Baja
Well, it’s time to say good-bye to La Paz. We leave tomorrow for San Jose del Cabo and then off to Hawaii a few days later. We’re going to miss La Paz. We’ve spent more time at anchor here or at the marina just getting to know La Paz, recovering from our sails south down the west coast of North America and having guests onboard.
We’ve had numerous people come and visit and it’s been great. I guess because we were so close and within easy reach of the Pacific Northwest that everyone thought it would be a good opportunity. The visitor from furthest away was Karen, Connie’s sister and she stayed down here for a month in her own apartment on shore. We spent lots of time together sharing our discoveries and enjoying the sites and sounds of Carnaval and poking our noses into lots of little stores and alleyways. Finding little treasures like the store that has chilies by the kilo
Our special friend in the photo to the left, Spitz, took us back to the days of owning a Schipperke. Spitz was from Oregon and belonged to Don onboard Osprey. Of course, it isn’t only Spitz we’re going to miss but so many other people that either live here or are passing through. La Paz is a real treasure. Couldn’t be anywhere safer to be and debunks the myth that Mexico is not currently a safe place to live or travel in. We highly recommend a visit to La Paz if you are thinking of going to Mexico.
Bon voyage, Tony and Connie! Bill and I will be thinking of you as you embark on blue water sailing. I am looking forward to reports of your reaching Honolulu and meeting my friends Barb and Bill!
Fair winds,
Donna and Bill, too
Hey Tony and Connie,
Bon voyage you two. You both look great. What a winter on the beach in Mexico will do! We’ll be thinking of you heading to Hawaii, setting off in better weather and much rested, I imagine. Keep us posted.
Much love
Jeanie
John Luton is reading over my shoulder and says hello. Glad Connie is healthy.
I envy you both the trip to Hawaii. God speed and good winds!
Patti
