The Ancient Mariner

There was a time when all we had was a sextant to help us navigate. We did that for 10 years. That got us a circumnavigation around the Pacific including stops in the Tuamotus, New Zealand, Australia, the Philippines, Japan, the Aleutian Islands and Alaska.

Since that trip the sextant has lain in its box only to be brought out to polish and oil. However, yesterday we had a good use for the sextant – to watch the eclipse.

    I can see her straining to heft the weight of the damn heavy thing … all while you look on uselessly from your hammock. This is even more disturbing then the recent post of her tending the anchor chain. Oh but why go on … one cannot shame the shameless!j

    I have some tarragon which I grew and dried some for you if interested
    I am working on drying some Thyme
    Oregano and Rosemary but didn’t plant much but attempting it to do a blend as well
